Your place for relaxed water sports
The Center
Our main centre and the marina for the Kite Adventure are located in Safaga on the beach of the Hotel Paradise Abu Soma Beach Resort. Here, too, you can indulge in water sports in a cosy, family atmosphere. Should you need help, our rescue service is at your disposal. You can also use the storage and drying room and the compressor pump. The beach turns into deep water after a few metres, which makes it a good starting point:
For kitesurfing, the size of the beach in combination with the wind direction is unfavourable. That's why we take our boat to Soma Bay every day for kitesurfing. The anchorage of the Kite Adventure offers a lot of space for water sports and ideal conditions for beginners and advanced surfers. Optionally, the trip can be completed with a five-kilometre downwinder back to the centre - a real experience.
In light winds or if there is a lull, you can explore the coast of Safaga on the stand-up paddleboards - have fun and do something for your balance and fitness.

1996
Since its establishment in 1996, Tornado Surf Center in Safaga has been a family-run, independent Safaga watersports centre.
1996
2009
Felix and Sabine take over Tornadosurf Center, which was located on the beach of the Holiday Inn, now the Amarina Abu Soma Resort & Aquapark. Many windsurfers start from the center and for kitesurfing they go to Soma Bay with a cute boat: the Prinsess Nora.
2010
There is a new boat for the kitesurfing trip to Soma Bay: The Utopia Team.

2011
The first IKO instructor training takes place. Even then with IKO instructor Max Piona, who has since regularly led Tornado Surf's IKO Pro trainings.

A year full of parties: boat parties, Tobia Island parties, full moon parties... A new tenant takes over the hotel at our centre location and calls it Riviera Plaza Resort.

Conversions and renovations at the centre.

We buy a new, bigger boat, call it Kite Adventure and convert it into a mobile kite station.

The first guests stay overnight at the Kite Adventure spot in Soma Bay. Tornado Surf now also offers kite-foil courses and foil equipment rental.
2019
The hotel at the center location is sold. Tornado Surf moves to the neighboring hotel, the Paradise Abu Soma Beach Resort. The first wingfoil material arrives.

Thanks to the new marina, the Kite Adventure docks directly at the centre.

Tornado Surf fait désormais partie des premiers centres IWO certifiés au monde avec Felix comme instructeur de wingfoil (IWO = International Wingfoil Organization). Différentes tailles d'ailes et de planches sont disponibles pour l'enseignement et la location.
